Primitive People
2019—2020

Project Primitive People is an artistic expression of the origin of mankind, and the interaction of man with the environment and with each other. Drawings, sculptures, art books, and a video are all elements of the story which the artist is telling. Buksha depicts the earliest forms of human communities, when morality and ethics were outlined not by the principles of collective well-being, but leaning on the need to survive. The project Primitive People is a kind of “thought experiment” about a society where outlook, religious beliefs, modern social roles, ethical behaviour, and cohabitation standards have not yet been formed. Unfolding before us scenes of this “primitive life,” Buksha leads the viewer to his main point, where the most modern and the most primitive find a common ground and common language.
